I am here to share a story about how I overcame a learning challenge. Which was the time I took the entrance examination in China.

Everyone knows that the entrance examination in China is very hard. Because there are too many people in China. Most of the students who attended the examination were trying to get to a better school, which means everyone tried their best. These all made the entrance examination hard. For me, the challenge was to learn everything as well as I can.

The strategy I used was to take some after-school classes. And the teachers there used the way of behaviorism. They used a specific environmental stimulus to make us give the proper response. And the specific method is to teach us how to read the question. There are always the same words in the same kind of questions. All you have to do is to identify which word occurs, and then you use the corresponding method to solve the problem. You will always get the right answer if you use this method. For example, the covered material for the chemistry test in the entrance examination is small, it only covers some regular metal element. Such as copper, iron, and so on. So if you see ā€œheat up the copperā€ in the question and write down the formula, I would write down 2Cu+O2=2CuO with no doubt. I don’t have to think that much or to spend more time on reading the whole question. It is like a key word or a key phrase in the question. When they used the specific stimulus, I will give the proper response, just like the part of behaviorism in the assigned reading. And it helped me a lot in the entrance examination. That’s how I overcame the challenge.

comment on my peer: My peer is focusing on Constructivism as his main style now. This the best way for most of the students. Because active engagement, collaboration is the main way of teaching for most of the teachers. And my peer dislike behaviorism because behaviorism is mainly about memorization instead of letting you truly learn something. I really agree with is opinion.
